Music Director M.S. Viswanathan Passes Away





Manayangath Subramanian Viswanathan also known as M.S.V.  Kollywood music director and composer from south India. He was popularly known as Mellisai mannar. He scored music over 1700 Films. died at a Private hospital in Chennai on Tuesday 4.30 AM Morning.  Sivaji Ganeshan's Panam in `1952 was his debut. MSV Maniyanga Subramanian Viswanathan born in Elapullin Palghat district in kerala. He was 87 and is survived four sons and three daughters.

Populat for composing music in Tamil,Telugu and Malayalam indstries, MSV started his career as a composer for 1952 film "Panam" starring Sivaji Ganeshan.MSV composed music for over 1,700 films and has worked with four CM's NTR, MGR, M.Karunanidhi and Jayalalitha. He is a recipient of Kalaimamani and several other music awards. Viswanathan's wife Janaki died in 2012. A year later, his best friend and composer T.T. Ramamurthy too died.

He is best remembered for his work on films such as Bama Vijayam, Galatta Kalyanam, Deivamagan, Moondru Dheivangal, Ricshawkaran, Bharatha Villas and Ulaga Sutrum Valiban.

The Tamil cinema industry condoled the death of Viswanathan with actors,actress,producers and music directors describing his death as an irreparable loss. MSV's funeral will be held on Wednesday morning at his residence on Santhome High Road in Chennai.
